Play, Connect, Belong: STaR’s Baulkham Hills MyTime Peer Support Group

Discover Connection and Community at STaR’s Baulkham Hills MyTime Peer Support
At STaR – Special Teaching and Research, we believe every child deserves a space where they feel celebrated and supported. Our Baulkham Hills MyTime Peer Support Group offers just that—a welcoming environment for families of children with a disability, developmental delay, or chronic medical condition.
MyTime is a national program that brings parents and carers together to connect, share, and grow. And here at STaR, we are proud to host a group where inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
Why We Love Playgroups
Playgroups are more than just fun—they are a soft introduction to early childhood education.
At STaR’s MyTime Peer Support Group, children explore and learn through play while parents and carers connect with others on a similar journey.
Children at our playgroup experience:
- Building confidence through play
- Learning important routines like group time, meal times and more
- Developing social skills by engaging in activities with peers, guided by an early childhood teacher
- A sense of belonging in an inclusive environment
Parents and carers experience:
- Peer support from those who truly understand
- A welcoming space to share advice, ideas, and experiences
- Opportunities for relaxed social connection
- Resources and information about services for families
At STaR’s MyTime Peer Support Group, we love seeing friendships
blossom—not just among the children, but among the parents and carers too.
What Happens at Our MyTime Peer Support Group?
Every Friday at 9:30 am, families gather at Gooden Drive Reserve, Baulkham Hills for a morning of fun, learning, and connection.
Each session includes:
- Free play with a variety of toys and sensory activities
- Group time featuring songs, stories, and games
- Morning tea (BYO snacks)
- Parent/carer chat time while the children are engaged in play
Our group is led by a trained facilitator who supports meaningful conversations and helps new families feel instantly welcome.

Why MyTime?
The MyTime program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services and delivered through local organisations like STaR.
It is designed especially for parents and carers raising children aged 0–18 with additional needs.
Unlike therapy or education sessions, MyTime is about you—your wellbeing, your connections, and your journey as a parent or carer.
You can find out more about the national MyTime program here.
