Post School Services

The goal of our post school services is to ensure continued learning opportunities for young people with disability after they finish formal schooling.

What post school services does STaR offer?

We offer Individual Learning Plan services for young adults to support a consistent approach towards learning goals and building capacity towards independence across all the programs and services they access including employment, allied health services/medical services and home.

The Beyond Boundaries project is aimed at providing comprehensive information on the transition between formal schooling and post-school life, with a focus on continued learning.

This project started in 2024 with Clarke Road Special School Hornsby, in response to what they identified as an area which families and carers needed additional support to navigate.

We are currently developing a guide and checklist for families and carers of young people with disability in their high school years (recommended for Year 9 and above) which provides information on what needs to be done in the lead up to finishing formal schooling across all life ‘domains’.
