Early Years Program
ExpandThe STaR Early Years Program supports families and their children with disability or developmental delay to attend and thrive at their local mainstream early childhood education and care (ECEC) services and transition to school successfully.
MyTime Peer Support Group
ExpandMyTime is a peer support group for parents and carers of children with a disability or a chronic medical condition.
MyTime is an opportunity for parents and carers to socialise and share ideas with other parents and carers. The program helps parents find out about available community support and meet others who understand the rewards and intensity of the caring role
Triple P Parenting Workshops
ExpandStepping Stones Triple P is a series of free parenting information seminars for parents of children (up to 12 years of age) with developmental disabilities and/or additional needs. There are three seminars in this series, which are for parents interested in general information about promoting their child’s development and for parents who have specific concerns about their child’s behaviour or development.
Support for Early Childhood Education and Care Services
ExpandOur team of Special Educators have expertise in and years of experience supporting early years educators to develop and implement learning programs for children with disability or developmental delay, enabling these children to be meaningfully included.
Through professional development and coaching, we also guide early childhood educators to use strategies to promote the positive engagement, communication and social emotional skills of children presenting with behaviours that challenge. We can work with you to develop an individualised guided practice project for your ECEC service, building on your team’s strengths and focusing on the specific skills and knowledge needed to best support the engagement and participation of children at your service
Post School Services
ExpandThe Beyond Boundaries project aims to ensure continued learning opportunities for young people with disability when they leave school. The project provides support and strengthens this transition between school and post-school program providers.
NDIS Services
ExpandSTaR is a registered NDIS provider and delivers services in including Innovative Community Participation (0116), Development – Life Skills (0117), Early Child Supports (0118) and Participate in Community (0125).
Key Word Sign Workshops
ExpandKey Word Sign (KWS) is a strategy or tool to support understanding and encourage language in children and adults with communication difficulties.
At STaR, we offer Nationally Standardised KWS training, delivered by a Key Word Sign Australia (KWSA) certified presenter.
