MyTime is a national initiative for parents and carers of children with a disability or a chronic medical condition. The program is run by the Parenting Research Centre as the national coordinator in partnership with local childhood and parenting services.
MyTime is an opportunity for parents and carers to socialise and share ideas with other parents and carers. The program helps parents find out about available community support and meet others who understand the rewards and intensity of the caring role.
Groups are parent-led; that is, parents choose what to do and what to talk about. Each group has a facilitator to coordinate the group, including providing resources and helping discussions between parents. Groups also have a play helper to engage children in activities, while parents can catch up.
Our MyTime Peer Support Group is held in Baulkham Hills on Fridays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Gooden Drive Reserve Meeting Room, located at Gooden Drive, Baulkham Hills, NSW 2153.

MyTime is open to all parents and family carers of children under 18 who require a higher level of care than typically developing children. This might be due to disability, developmental delay, a chronic medical condition, or other additional needs.
The Peer Support Group is for both parents/carers and their children. A formal diagnosis is not needed to attend. If you have developmental concerns in one or two areas, you’re very welcome to come along and see whether MyTime is the right fit for your family.
MyTime is a relaxed and supportive space where parents and carers can connect with others who understand their experiences. Sessions are parent-led, meaning you choose what you’d like to talk about or focus on. A trained facilitator is there to guide discussions, provide resources, and help you find local supports.
At the same time, a play helper (who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education) engages your child in meaningful, play-based activities. This gives you the chance to catch your breath, enjoy a cuppa, and connect with other adults.
No, MyTime is free of charge for all families in NSW. It’s a great way to meet other parents and carers, access support and share experiences at no cost.
